Tracy Rockey

Tracy Rockey provides care to patients enrolled in Cardiovascular Medicine's Heart Failure Clinic. Under the direction of CVM's Heart Failure Medical Director, Dr. Michael Gimbel, and in association with Dr. Francis Johnson, Associate Professor and Director of the Cardiomyopathy Treatment Program at the University of Iowa, Tracy provides high quality follow-up care to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Tracy develops and assists with the implementation of individualized care plans including patient education of the disease process and treatment modalities, medication maintenance, and lifestyle modifications related to diet, smoking cessation and physical activity.

Tracy attended the University of Iowa and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990. She furthered her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago receiving her Master of Science in Nursing and completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 2002. Tracy worked in the primary care field for 9 years before joining Cardiovascular Medicine, PC in 2011. Upon joining CVM, Tracy completed an internship program through the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in the Heart Failure Clinic. Working directly with the providers and Medical Director, Tracy enhanced her knowledge and experience with heart failure disease management.


Tracy is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Heart Failure Society of America, Sigma Theta Thau, and the Quad Cities APN/PA Alliance.

Tracy's professional interests include various components of cardiovascular disease with emphasis on heart failure treatment, patient education and research.
